Frequently Asked Questions
What size skip do I need for house clearance?
The size of skip you need for house clearance depends on what job you have to do. For example, a 4 yard skip would be suitable if you have to clear out a loft or a garage.
In contrast, for a full house clearance, such as moving house, we would recommend booking a 12 yard skip, as this means you can flatten any moveable furniture and gives you more space for the job.
What size skip do I need for soil?
We would recommend renting at least an 8 yard skip for garden clearance. These are able to hold a mixture of soil, smaller pieces of rubble and other light waste such as bushes, branches and smaller logs.
As we mentioned above, a 12 yard skip is not suitable for this type of job due to weight transport restrictions.
What size skip do I need for a kitchen renovation?
Similar to the house clearance, we would recommend at a minimum a 4 yard skip, but if it is a larger kitchen renovation, an 8 yard skip would be best. This is because they are more suited to larger demolitions and removals.
Please note that appliances cannot go in the skip, as these are classed as Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and need to be disposed of differently.
What size skip do I need for a bathroom renovation?
For bathroom renovations, we’d recommend a 4 or 6 yard skip, depending on the size of your bathroom. However, this is dependent on the size of your bathroom, and whether it is a complete refit, or just a refurbishment.
